Wooden mandolin slicer11/30/2023 ![]() ![]() Handheld mandolines typically offer more control because you can choose the angle at which you want to slice as well as position the slicer directly over a bowl instead of transferring from the cutting board. Some home cooks prefer to hold the mandoline slicer in their non-dominant hand while others prefer to prop up a stand that supports the mandoline. V-slice blade – The most common style found in kitchens, the two diagonal blades create a V-shape slice through the food for extra strength in cutting larger fruits and vegetables.įlat handheld vs stand mandoline - which one to choose? ![]() This allows tender ingredients like peppers and tomatoes to slide across easily and requires less force on tougher vegetables, improving its safety. Straight blade - A single blade runs perpendicular to the ramp, slicing straight through the food and can be used for tough vegetables.ĭiagonal blade – Common in Japanese models, this style punctures a small part of the skin of the fruit or vegetable before gliding through the rest of the surface of the food. These have metal or plastic prongs to secure the food so you can slice easily and smoothly. Safety features – Opt for mandolines with hand guards or food holders that will protect your hand from the sharp blades. A wide cutting blade will accommodate most vegetables however, if the vegetable is larger than the blade, you’ll need to cut it down. The larger the mandoline, the more difficult it can be to navigate so this is best suited to those who are more experienced using mandoline slicers. Platform size – Smaller models are typically easier to store and handle. The stand - This model has legs that allow it to stand on its own providing an extra degree of safety, especially when using it to cut julienne or waffle style. This allows you to control the angle at which you slice and makes it easier to slice directly into a plate. Handheld – These typically have a handle to hold while resting the base of the mandoline against a counter or bowl. If you want control over the range of thickness that you can slice, look for an adjustable slicer.įood grade material – Ensure you choose a model with food grade safe materials for maximum health and safety.Įasy to use and clean – If you plan on using a mandoline slicer regularly or even multiple times in one cooking session, opt for a model which is easy to quickly rinse clean and use again. Consider the types of food you will be cutting, how frequently you will use the mandoline and if you plan on using specialty shaped blades like julienne or crinkle cut. ![]() High-quality material will handle regular use and cleaning as well as provide maximum safety.īlade type and material – Choose a blade best suited to your usual slicing needs. ![]() Features to look out forĬonstruction – Opt for a hand-held mandoline slicer with sharp stainless steel blades and a sturdy platform. Yarn workspaces vs npm workspaces11/30/2023 ![]() ![]() npmClient: you can define in you want to use Yarn, Npm or your favourite client. We prefer fixed mode to keep all packages with the same version and reduce headaches to users. Take care that independent mode will create one tag for each package that will be published with its own version. It could be a semver value (called fixed mode) or independent if you want to let packages define their own version. In our case, we use core/*, plugins/* and tools/*. They could be explicit ( packages/pkg1) or, if a folder has several packages, you can use * wildcard. packages: this array defines the location for all packages that conforms the monorepo. This will generate files like package.json or lerna.json (packages structure is shown as example, but not generated). The initial setup is really simple, you only need to create a new repository and run lerna init to initialize the monorepo. Since Yarn 1.0, this feature is enabled by default, you only need a root package.json to setup them. If a package has a dependency on other package in the workspace, they are linked without affecting your global environment. All the packages in the workspace uses a common lockfile as a single source of truth. This involves two things that you could not see at the first moment. Yarn Workspaces is a way to setup package architecture where all packages dependencies are installed together with a single yarn install. Also, if you don't want to install it, you can use package runners such as npx. You can install it globally with npm install -global lerna, yarn global add lerna or your favourite package manager, to run commands with lerna. Lerna is a tool to manage several Javascript projects with multiple packages (called monorepos), optimizing the workflows around them. There are more tools for this purpose, but we will focus on Lerna and Yarn Workspaces. In order to achieve our goal, and we found Lerna and Yarn Workspaces.Īs a first step, we created the basic architecture of the monorepo and moved the first dependencies in, an ESLint config and a Babel preset.Īfter Verdaccio 4 release, Typescript migration and more, we saw that many projects shares the same architecture, so it could be a good moment to achieve our goals. We decided to unify all configurations, because handle several repositories would not be realistic and would have all things replicated in all repositories. We had some concerns about the Verdaccio ecosystem we want to build, such amount of repositories requires hard work for maintenance by each one with their own dependencies, scripts, configurations, etc. ![]() Background and tools Ī year ago, Juan and I met in Madrid, Spain, and were talking about the roadmap for Verdaccio 4, the scope of the projects and more. This article is the first part of a series of articles where we will try to explain our motivation about to set up by your own, improve the management and workflows (CI, code quality, etc). Now, we are proud to announce our monorepo, our big ecosystem joined in only one repository. There are many examples out there that Javascript developer use nowadays, like Babel, Create React App or Material UI. We need a monorepo.Ī monorepo is a project configuration to manage a collection of dependencies in a simple and unified way. So, we needed to simplify and unify them to make it easier. We saw a problem, these configurations entropy made harder to work with all the projects. This fact transforms a simple maintenance operation, like updating a common dependency, into a real hard work. Verdaccio is a project with a big ecosystem, composed by several projects, each one with its own configurations and ways to manage. ![]()

Green bay vs vikings score11/29/2023 ![]() ![]() A lot of stuff’s falling our way.”Ĭousins went 18 of 31 for 205 yards for the NFC North champion Vikings (12-4). "I think we’re just going out there, playing hard, trusting each other. ![]() “They say (turnovers) come in bunches, so you’ve just got to capitalize on it,” Savage said. The Packers converted each of Cousins’ turnovers into touchdowns. Savage, Adrian Amos and Rudy Ford each intercepted passes by Cousins, while Kenny Clark recovered a fumble on a strip sack. Jefferson had nine receptions for 184 yards and two touchdowns in a season-opening 23-7 victory over the Packers. Green Bay held Jefferson, the NFL's leading receiver, to one catch for 15 yards. They've now won four straight, with their ball-hawking defense a big reason why. The Packers beat the Cowboys in overtime before losing to Tennessee and Philadelphia. I didn’t really go around saying that because you don’t really want to say, ‘Hey, if we get just one of these three, you know, we can maybe make the playoffs.’ But in my head, that’s what I was thinking.” “I just felt like if we get one of those, we can win the last five, and 9-8 was going to get in. “It’s strange, but when we were sitting at 3-6 and looked at the next three, at the time Tennessee was playing really well, obviously the Cowboys were playing well and Philly was No. “I still believe in myself and felt like it just takes one sometimes,” said Rodgers, who went 15 of 24 for 159 yards. Green Bay's latest bit of good fortune came earlier Sunday when Washington fell 24-10 at home to the Cleveland, putting the Packers in control of their postseason fate. The Packers (8-8) will reach the playoffs if they beat the Detroit Lions at home in their regular-season finale.Ī fourth straight postseason berth seemed out of the question after a 1-7 stretch dropped the Packers to 4-8, but they haven’t lost since and have benefited from favorable results around the league. Keisean Nixon scored on a 105-yard kickoff return and Darnell Savage had a 75-yard pick-6 of Cousins - one of four turnovers by the Minnesota QB. Rodgers threw a touchdown pass and ran for a score, and the Packers shut down Kirk Cousins and star receiver Justin Jefferson in a 41-17 blowout of the Minnesota Vikings on Sunday. He has his defense to thank for continuing Green Bay's reversal of fortune. Aaron Rodgers and the Packers suddenly are just a win away from an improbable playoff berth. Restaurants in norco ca11/29/2023 ![]() ![]() Please support this local business and give them a try much better than the Hawaiian food chains. By the time I was done eating the place was packed. I didn't know when you eat at the restaurant they call your name to grab your food so if you are eating outside be aware. There was a very handsome gentleman who I'd don't know if he was staff or just helpful he had the most beautiful hair. I will definitely come back to try some of the items that weren't available after grand opening. Mac was good didn't care to much for the pork sliders but the shrimp was delicious. Like I said the food was good but the portions are small and there is no value. The girl at the counter said it comes with a side of Mac salad which it did not, so they're prices are either wrong or they're charging $4 to $5 for a small fountain drink. On their menu it says the cost is $12.00 which is fine since it's a simpler/cheaper meal to prepare. Ordered a loco moco and small fountain drink and the total came out to $18.00 (17.91 to be exact) the loco moco itself was pretty good but here's the problem. ![]()
